Welcome! We are a chapter of decorative artists who paint our designs on many surfaces such as wood, glass, metal, fabric, ceramic, and canvas in a variety of mediums such as acrylics, oils, and watercolors to name a few.
Our type of painting can be learned. We use patterns and follow written instructions -- anyone can do it! So if you have always wanted to paint this would be a great start. We are always striving to learn and develop our skills and love painting together as a group.
The Mission of the California Poppy Decorative Artists is to encourage an on-going interest in decorative arts by helping to strengthen our members' painting skills, promote knowledge by providing programs, and
increasing growth in membership.
Thanks for visiting our site; we hope it will interest you and you will think about joining us at a meeting or one our events.
Decorative painting is a diverse art form utilizing a variety of techniques and media to decorate functional and non-function surfaces. Tole painting is the general term used historically to describe decorative painting on tin surfaces, but today we paint on many different types of surfaces and have expanded our style.
